Teen Pregnancy

Okay welllllll I'm trying to get into this Journalism Internship for this local newspaper. I had to write some sort of article & i decided to make my topic Teen Pregnancy. So I'm gonna post it & tell me what you think :]

"How would you feel if you came home from work, and your daughter tells you she just took a pregnancy test, and it turned out positive? Would you be angry? Would you be upset with her? Or be upset with yourself? Unfortunately, this event isn't one that's far-fetched. Every hour there are two teenagers in the United Sates that have just found out they are pregnant.

In the United States alone, there are over 750,000 teen pregnancies each year. The U.S. has the highest rate of teen pregnancy, births, and abortions in the fully industrialized world. With this being said, it's still surprising when stories such as the Pregnancy Pact at Gloucester High School are exposed. It shows that young females in this day in time, are greatly influenced by the belief that they will have a perfect and happy family even if they are having their child at as young as 15.

Young females could be influenced also by the media. Stars such as Bristol Palin and Jamie Lynn Spears, shed a light on teen pregnancy that isn't what most would call “positive”. Bristol Palin's new Public Service Announcement, for The Candie's Foundation, has caused much controversy. The ad features Bristol Palin with her son, Tripp, as she explains how if she didn't come from a famous family, have all the opportunities, and have their support, her pregnancy wouldn't be as “glamorous” as it seems. Many have gotten angry and have spoken against the P.S.A. stating that she is saying it is basically “okay” to have a baby at a young age, only if you have the support from your family and a way to sufficiently provide for your child and yourself.

Georgia actually happens to be the number 8th ranked state in the nation with the highest teenage birth rate. With this said, we come in 2nd when it comes to the rate of repeat births by teens. Suggestions have been made to have safe sex taught in our local high schools, but the system still believes teaching abstinence is the best solution. However many parents don't want their children to learn about having safe sex, they want their children to stay abstinent, but others feel as if telling a teenager to stay abstinent is “naïve”.

As teen pregnancy rates continue to climb over the years, it's very obvious that the problem needs some sort of solution. There should be more places such as Polly Fox. Polly Fox is located in Toledo, Ohio and is a school dedicated solely to girls in grades 7 – 12 whom are pregnant or have already had a child. The school provides a nursery, health care center that provides whatever medication is needed, classes on how to properly take care of their children, and transportation for both the moms and children. The school's main goal is to make sure all of their students graduate high school and have a chance to continue their education in college.

Teen Pregnancy is something that cannot be ignored. What ways do you think teen pregnancy could be avoided? Do you think there should just be better ways to handle it, if teenage girls do happen to get pregnant? Or, do you believe abstinence is the only solution to this entire problem?"

Braces !

Okay so I got my bottom braces put on & I got a smaller wire on the top. I'm not sure how happy I am because I didn't have a gap on the bottom & now I do ? And I was SO SAD because I had to take my lip ring out :( But trust ... as soon as these braces come off, the lip is getting re-pierced !

Okay I got this new nail polish that I am in LOVE with, so I thought I would post it for you. I love this type of nail polish because it runs cheap, but it's still a good quality. I got this at wal-mart for $2.50 I believe.

What Are You Watching ?

Okay, yes I know I haven't been posting & it's because I still haven't got a new charger for my computer so I'm on here when I can. Stick with me here people. :]

Anyways I went to Takers Saturday night and I am IN LOVE with this movie ! Idris Elba stole the show in my personal opinion. The entire movie setup is well thought out and just very entertaining all together. Plus the multiple eye-candy isn't a bad thing either. This movie is appealing to both the guys and the gals :]

WOW ! Okay first & foremost I love Scarlett Johansson. She's so pretty & she's not stick thin like they-who-should-not-be-named. This is the new ad that was leaked for Dolce & Gabbana cosmetics. I loves it !

If You Like True Blood

Then you will surely enjoy this month's Rolling Stone. The cover shows Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard naked and covered in blood. The story in the magazine is entitled, " The Joy of Vampire Sex " where Stephen Moyer told his opinions on the whole vampire craze.

"If we go from a base level, vampires create a hole in the neck where there wasn't one before. It's a de-virginization--breaking the hymen, creating blood and then drinking the virginal blood. And there's something sharp, the fang, which is probing and penetrating and moving into it. So that's pretty sexy. I think that makes vampires attractive." He laughs a little. "Plus, Robert Pattinson is just hot, right?"

Alrighty I haven't been able to post anything new because my computer charger is broken soooo I've only been using it when I need to. 

Okay well I start back to school tomorrow *sigh* and I went to do a little of my school shopping yesterday & I'm going to post some of the things that I got yesterday. I'm going next weekend to get a few more things, & I'll post it for you then :)

Pretty Little Liars.

Okay if you missed the season finale of Pretty Little Liars yesterday like I did, go on Hulu.com  and watch it now! It has so many twits and turns it's unbelievable. I've read about 4 of the books so I don't know EXACTLY what's going to happen, but I am so hoping that Ezra and Aria stay together. Even though it's in that weird statutory-rapist kinda way ... I don't care they are just perfect together.

The 23-year-old actor ( Ohhh I only have to more years to go ) spoke to Hollywood Crush  on the phone about Ezra's strange way of expressing his feelings, and about revealing who the true "A" character is.

On who the heck "A" is: "I've had to turn down everybody [who has asked me that] — from college friends to my mom … honestly I would probably tell my mother, but again we are lovingly let in the loop because things twist and turn and be altered. But ultimately we don’t know I wish, I could tell," he said. "I hope it's me! I think that'd be cool! I'm most likely not ['A']. I wondered if it's maybe one of the girls' friends or maybe it's Ian. I think there's so many holes to be filled anyway."

Soooo whats going on with Ezra & Aria's relationship: "[They] made up pretty well! It's a dangerous relationship. It's not acceptable. He knows logically this is a bad idea … and I think he flip flops," he explained—adding he's a bit nervous "A" has gotten too close to them.

 On the poem Ezra wrote for Aria: "He wrote a poem that was published that is so obviously about her. It seems a little weird to me [that he didn't tell her about it]. He's torn…"

I love Ian Harding. Oh how many of you knew that he was in Adventureland ? He had a really small part but his hair was super long. :/

Water & Oil - Steven Meisel

A photo spread in the latest issue of Vogue Italia has caused quite a stir. It features Kristen McMenamy in black, oil-soaked clothing. In some pictures it shows her beaten and battered against some rocks while caught in a net. In others it shows her gasping for air, in shock, or struggling to breath. Many people haven't had many good things to say about the spread but I personally love it. If this doesn't light a fire under BP's ass I don't know what will.

Braces !

Okay so I recently had to get braces ! :o 

I haven't quite gotten use to them, but I decided I would post a pic of my mouth every month so you guys can see the changes. I'm going next month to get my bottom brackets and I will have to have these a little over 2 years. So let's hope i'll have them off before or right when college starts ! *fingers crossed*

The Other Guys - Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg

I have already seen this movie and I LOVED it ! It was very funny & Mark Wahlberg is HOT !

Easy A - Emma Stone

Well I love Emma Stone to start with, and I think this movie is going to be fantastic. I'm also glad that Amanda Bynes is kind of changing things up and doing a different kind of roll than she usually does.

Piranha - Adam Scott, Elisabeth Shue, Ving Rhames, Eli Roth, Adel Marie Ruiz

I loved the original Piranha that came out in 1978 so I HOPE this movie will be just as good & meet my expectations ... I'm kind of on the fence though because if you notice at the end of the trailer, the Piranha swims up to the girls face and like ... screams at her before they attack ? Wtf

Vampires Suck - Marcelle Baer, Kelsey Ford, Michelle Lang, Chris Riggi

I am a fan of the Twilight BOOKS but the movies just aren't that great to me. I did enjoy the fight scenes in Eclipse though ... Oh and I of course enjoyed Taylor Lautner :) BUT I think this movie will be pretty entertaining just because it poking a little fun at this movie that people have been going CRAZY over.

Oh and speaking of Twilight, this really has nothing to do with the movie or anything, but Robert Pattinson was recently in my home town, Chattanooga,TN. Well I was on  facebook and I saw some females that I know posting that they were going to sit and wait for him at 5 o'clock in the morning ! Well long story short these ladies stayed out there for 5 hours waiting to get a little glimpse of him ... And he didn't even come out and sign any autographs, take some pictures, wave, smile, NOTHING ! Mmmm ...

Well on a lighter note, tell me some movies your excited about seeing or that you already saw that you really enjoyed . Oh and if you would like you can comment on the little Robert Pattinson situation.

World Championships - Finalist DIES at event

Of all the sports in the world, this by far has to be one of the most IDIOTIC things I've ever seen. A competition was held to see who could stand the heat  in a sauna the longest. The saunas heat reached up to 230 degrees fahrenheit.

Both of the events finalist, Vladimir Ladyzhensky and Finland's Timo Kaukonen, were rushed to the hospital after collapsing at the event. Ladyzhensky died later on. I choose to NOT post the pictures, but if you are interested in seeing them just go here

I don't know about you guys

But I love Lauren Conrad's book series, L.A. Candy. I know this isn't a new book or anything but I figured I could go ahead and say something about it because the third installment from the series, Sugar and Spice, is going to be realesd October 5th. There is also a movie based on all three books being filmed. Anyways, if you haven't read these books PICK THEM UP. Oh, and these books aren't based off of the hills ... Just FYI.

Teen Choice Awards.

As you most know the Teen Choice Awards aired this evening, and it was hosted my the very lovely Katy Perry. I enjoyed it for the most part. Taylor HOTner defiantly kept me happy :) I will be giving a link to the full list of Awards and the Winners.

I personally think they both looked fabulous. I am especially in love with Selena's pair of nude Sergio Rossi sandals! 

Ashley Green and Lucy Hale.

Lucy Hale is usually one of my favorite dressed Pretty Little Liar, aside from Hanna of course, but I was just NOT feeling this little number from Paule Ka. I do love the spikey booties from Ruthie Davis.

Kendall, Kim, Kylie, Lmar, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian.

Can't forget about those Kardashians ! I think they all look fantastic. I really have nothing else to say :)

David Henrie

This actor was nominated for Choice TV Comedy for Wizards of Waverly Place. He is wearing a light-blue Bishop of Seventh long-sleeved tee. Are him and Lucy Hale still dating? I don't recall seeing them walking down the ... blue carpet together.

It also seems as if the vampires did indeed take over. Twilight received a total of 12 wins while The Vampire Diaries took home 7. One of the main characters from Twilight, Robert Pattinson, actually won something outside from Twilight. He was rewarded choice drama movie actor for Remember Me.

" It's great to win something outside of Twilight " said Pattinson as he excepted his surfboard-shapped trophy.

Another big event of the night was Sandra Bullock winning the award for choice drama movie actress which was followed by a ... Butt-bumping dance between her and Betty White. This dance was in honor for the other award given to both for their tribal dance in The Proposal.
